Beach Avenue Loft

Marina Del Rey, CA

DGC DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT

A client with the exacting eye of this art collector and MDR loft owner makes for a rewarding collaboration. A cookie-cutter open-plan loft was in five weeks transformed into a museum-quality living space. DGC created a two-bed, two-bath home, complete with custom closets, interior sliding and pocket doors, new window treatments, a fully remodeled kitchen, and outdoor terrace equipped with a shower and custom planters for 26 Sequoia trees. Original textured walls were skim-coated and painted, floors were sanded and treated with a white hi-gloss marine paint, and all new lighting and spiral ductwork were installed for an industrial aesthetic. Design features such as an overscaled “book corner” was imagined and built off the dining area, giving a grand and detailed finish to the overall space.
